Windows 10 Features in a capsule

This is a demo of Windows 10 Technical Preview, Build 9926. A little bit of the interface is different, the taskbar and there are some icons besides the Start button. And yes, the new Start menu looks great.

The main philosophy of Windows 10 is to have one operating system that will run on phones, tablets, PCs, and even the Xbox. It will work with universal apps so the developers could make one piece of software and have that software tailored to different device screen size.

Minions (2015) Movie Preview

Meet Kevin, Stu and Bob too in the wildest adventure of the year and don’t forget to bring your BANANA… Minions.

Let’s be honest, it was only a matter of time before the Minions got a film of their own. Since bursting on to the screen in 2010’s Despicable Me just five years ago, they’ve become household names. Children love them, adults love them, and whole families love them. The Minions have a universal liking, which is no mean feat in the, arguably, over-saturated world of animated characters.

Jurassic World Movie Preview

In Jurassic World, dinosaurs and thousands of human will be playing in the same playground. What could possible go wrong? Take a look to our first visit of the so called, Jurassic World.

It has been over 20 years since we were introduced to the inhabitants of Isla Nublar. Back in 1993, John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) took Dr. Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), Dr. Sattler (Laura Dern) and our good selves on a tour of the island, a little trip round the soon-to-be-opened real-life dinosaur theme park. The tour was something of a disaster; the film on the other hand was a huge success. Having entered into popular culture and become the undisputed king of the dinosaur film (sorry, The Land Before Time), two sequels followed: the quite good The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) and the not so good Jurassic Park III (2001).

Cities: Skylines Game Review

Cities: Skylines is developed by Colossal Order and published by Paradox Interactive. Here’s our review of the game:

The latest SimCity game was brimming with ideas, but let down by some startling design decisions. Overly restrictive building plots resulted in ridiculously small ‘cities’, a system that only existed to facilitate forced multiplayer interaction that few people wanted. Meanwhile, the game’s ostensibly detailed simulation was let down by a hive of bugs and a progression structure that very quickly ran out of steam. Just shy of two years later, and Colossal Order’s Cities: Skylines has dropped its suspiciously similar planning permission leaflets through our letterbox.

Intel Atom x3 CPU pairs with ARM graphics and built-in modem

Intel has announced its first mobile system-on-chip (SoC) with an integrated modem: the Intel Atom X3, codenamed SoFIA.

Previous mobile Intel chips, such as the Bay Trail range, have separate wireless modems for use in 3G and 4G tablets, as well as smartphones. Having two chips is less power-efficient and more expensive, and makes it harder for Intel to compete with companies such as Qualcomm, with its Snapdragon integrated-modem SoCs.

NVidia Shield console offers 4K gaming for just $199

The Console Wars have a new entrant with the NVidia Shield, a 4K-capable games console that runs on the Android TV platform. NVidia had previously released an Android tablet under the Shield brand, designed to stream games over the company’s Grid service. The new Shield console is designed for the exact same purpose, providing under-the-TV competition for the Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Apple reveals new thinner fanless MacBook with a single port

Apple has announced a new MacBook for 2015, replacing the MacBook Air as the company’s thinnest laptop to date. At just 13.1mm at its thickest point and weighing 920g, the new 12in model is almost 25% slimmer than the 11in MacBook Air.
